I need to change the battery but it is not located where other car batteries are. Is there something that I can easily remove to get to it or do I have to go underneath of the car? Also, does anyone know where I can download a free manual?How do I get to the battery on a 02 Chrysler Sebring 4 cyl?Verify that the ignition switch and all accessories are OFF.
Turn the steering wheel to the full left position.
Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable remote terminal from the remote battery post. WARNING: NEVER GET UNDER A LIFTED VEHICLE IF NOT SUPPORTED PROPERLY ON SAFETY STANDS.
Remove battery splash shield. Refer to the Body section for the procedure.
Disconnect the heater blanket cord, if equipped.
Remove the short bolt from the battery hold down and remove the hold down (Fig. 6).
Disconnect the negative and positive battery cables from the battery.
Slide the battery toward rear of vehicle and lift out of the battery tray.
Remove battery from vehicle.
INSTALLATION:
Position the battery in the battery tray.
Connect the positive and negative battery cables. Torque to 16 Nm (150 in. lbs.) .
Connect the heater blanket cord, if equipped.
Install the battery hold down and install the hold down bolt.Torque to 16 Nm (150 in. lbs.) .
Install battery splash shield. Refer to the Body section for the procedure.
Connect the negative battery cable.
