Does anyone know how to reset the immobilliser on an astra?

its a 2002 2.2l coupe . i changed the battery in my key today and car will not start now. it turns over but wont start ,light on dash flashing (car and spanner).Does anyone know how to reset the immobilliser on an astra?sounds like youve dropped the immobiliser chip out of the key open it back up its attached too the part with the blade on no way too reset imobiliser its not really part of the central locking system. the chip is around 3-4mm long and is a little rectangle of black plastic look at where you opened the key up too see if its still there

if you cant find the chip a new key may be req used too be able too get them seperate but vauxhall stopped supplying them try a good locksmith who specialise in cars they may be able too get one and programme it for you failing that the car needs too be towed too dealersDoes anyone know how to reset the immobilliser on an astra?Read your Handbook, or alternatively get the AA out to itDoes anyone know how to reset the immobilliser on an astra?Try this.

Switch ignition ON.

Programming mode activated for 30 seconds.

Depress lock or unlock button.

Central locking system operates to indicate correct synchronization.Does anyone know how to reset the immobilliser on an astra?Because the car is so new ,you obviously took to long to change the battery which in turn has locked the computerised code and therefore you have to tech 2 the system to talk to the electronic brain in the key.Dont attempt to by pass it or it wont talk again .the flashing spanner is saving you a lot of grive.Does anyone know how to reset the immobilliser on an astra?ok this happens to me alot - all you have to do is...................



1 - sit in your car with doors locked.



2 - put key in ignition and turn to the second line - [standby]



3 - press and hold one of the buttons on your key fob.



4 - your doors should then unlock and your back in buisness!
